    Dr. Francesco Vetri is a highly skilled interventional pain physician and a board-certified anesthesiologist. He received his medical degree with magna cum laude and PhD in Neuroscience with the highest distinction from the University of Pisa in Italy.  He completed his residency program in Anesthesiology and fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was elected Chief Fellow acknowledging his excellence in clinical care and he received acclaimed awards from the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) and from the Society for Neurosciences in Anesthesia and Critical Care (SNACC) for his clinical research.

    Prior to his interventional pain management and anesthesia training, he completed a post-doctoral research fellowship program in Neuroscience at the Neuroanesthesia Laboratory at University of Illinois at Chicago. He has authored 15 peer-reviewed scientific articles in prestigious high impact journals and received independent founding from Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for his groundbreaking research on novel molecular targets involved in cerebral vascular regulation in diabetes. He has presented his top-notch research at numerous international scientific meetings.

    His current clinical research interests span from the use of lidocaine as an anti-tumor agent to neuromodulation therapy as well as spinal imaging techniques and various pain syndromes.

    He joined Dr. Ramsin Benyamin and Dr. Ricardo Vallejo at the internationally acclaimed Millennium Pain Center to cultivate his passion for pioneering clinical research and excellence in patient care. “I am truly blessed to be working in an internationally renowned pain management practice, where exceptional patient care is so uniquely combined with exceptional clinical and basic research” said Dr.Vetri.  

    Dr. Vetri is an expert in interventional pain management techniques including Spinal Cord Stimulation, Ultrasound-guided interventions, Vertebral Augmentation techniques, and Intrathecal Drug Delivery Systems, among others. His clinical interests include management of chronic pain conditions such as atypical face pain, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome, spinal stenosis, failed back surgery syndrome as well as refractory cancer, abdominal and pelvic pain. 

    Dr. Vetri serves as active member of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA), American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP), and American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA).  He is also served as invited speaker for international conferences. 

    Dr. Vetri is a reviewer for numerous scientific journals and an invited editor of Anesthesiology – Open Journal.
